RCL Awarded Shard Place
Rochford Construction have been awarded the £3.2 Million External Works package. RCL are contracted directly by the St Thomas Street Development in conjunction with construction managers Mace. RCL’s Remit includes Hard & Soft Landscaping, waterproofing and section 278 works to the perimeter of the site and carriageway.

A challenge we faced pre construction on the project was to source Granite from China to match the Granite laid on the existing Shard Quarter developments. The Project team including Gerard Rochford visited the quarry for quality assurance of the granite. During this visit to China, the team assessed a number of granite options ultimately sourcing it from Xiamen, China.
